The Chemss2016 subject matter is in line with today's international efforts to combat illicit use of chemicals as well as biological and nuclear products. The meeting will be focused on a scientific and economic approach.  The gathering will bring together representatives of governments, international organizations, industry, academia and civil society who are active in the field of chemical safety and security, physical protection of chemical industry related facilities. Chemical safety and security enhancement is also an important element of the international initiatives for the peaceful use of chemicals.

Ambassador Paturej also informed that the UN milieus will actively participate in the Global Summit on Chemical Safety and Security (www.chemss2016.org) held in Kielce from 18 to 20 April 2016. He also highlighted the fact that Chemss2016 is innovative for two reasons.

Firstly - Chemss2016 is the bottom-up initiative of communities actively involved use of chemicals, chemical safety and security, including industry, academia and civil society. Chemss2016 enjoys strong support from government agencies and industry as it is involved in promotion of the peaceful use of chemicals and expanding international cooperation on chemical hazards reduction.

Secondly - Chemss2016 is a truly global event, free of political constraints. Representatives of countries and industries from different regions of the world and political parties have confirmed their participation in the summit. This serves as the proof of universal interest in chemical safety and security above political divisions. Chemss2016 will be a perfect occasion to exchange best practices and develop innovative solutions for chemical safety and security which will then be promoted internationally.

The New York meeting participants expressed their interest in attending Chemss2016 proceedings; they recognized Chemss2016 an important event to enhance global chemical safety and security.
