The National round table meeting on the capabilities in the domain of chemical safety and security in Ukraine and the development of an Integrated Chemical Safety and Security Program in Ukraine, moderated by ICCSS and held in Kyiv, on 11-12 December, 2014, gathered multi-stakeholder representation from the Ukrainian agencies, chemical industry and civil society, international organizations, including from the EU, UN, Interpol, OPCW, FAO, the invited governments and the international partners.
The meeting included comprehensive presentation on CHEMSS 2016, presented in front of senior Ukrainian, Polish and American officials.
As the result of the discussions, the participants of the national roundtable approved a set of recommendations for the implementation of ICSSP in Ukraine. The recommendations proposed the direction of efforts and available resources to promote and support the following activities and initiatives, in the framework of ICSSP: An emphasis on chemical safety and security capacity-building, best practices exchanges, cooperation between specialists, introduction of regulatory standards, law enforcement, crisis management and assistance in cases of emergencies and the promotion of a chemical safety and security culture in Ukraine.
