Ukraine Church Receives Generator from Japanese Christian Community

The International Centre for Chemical Safety and Security (ICCSS) delegation, led by Ambassador Krzysztof Paturej, President of ICCSS, along with Dr. Jan Krynicki, Chaplain of the Polish State Fire Service, and General (Ret.) Wiesław Lesniakiewicz, Vice President of the Association of Volunteer Fire Brigades of Poland, visited Lviv on a diplomatic mission. A significant moment occurred during a ceremony held at the Archdiocese of Lviv when ICCSS President, Ambassador Krzysztof Paturej, presented a generator generously funded by a small Christian community in Japan.

The donation ceremony hosted by H.E. Metropolitan Archbishop of Lviv Mieczysław Mokrzycki at the Archdiocese of Lviv. The purpose of this donation is to provide vital electricity support to one of the Catholic churches in the Lviv region.

The ceremony symbolized the unwavering solidarity of Catholic communities worldwide with Ukraine, which has endured immense losses due to the ongoing military aggression by Russia against Ukraine. The Japanese Christian community's contribution demonstrates their heartfelt compassion and desire to assist the Ukrainian people during this challenging period.

The generator, a practical and much-needed resource, will provide a reliable source of power to the chosen Catholic church in Lviv, ensuring uninterrupted access to essential services and activities for the local community. This act of generosity from the Japanese Christian community reflects the power of international collaboration and compassion in times of crisis.

H.E. Metropolitan Archbishop of Lviv Mieczysław Mokrzycki expressed his gratitude on behalf of ICCSS and the Ukrainian people, stating: "We are profoundly grateful to the Japanese Christian community for their invaluable support. It symbolizes the unbreakable bonds of friendship between nations and showcases the unity of faith and compassion that transcends borders”. He informed about ongoing assistance by Catholic Church in Poland and Catholics in Ukraine into Ukraine society Polish and  presented conveyed his appreciation for the solidarity shown by Catholic communities around the world."

ICCSS President emphasized the importance of mutual support and cooperation during these challenging times: "We are deeply moved by this act of kindness from the Japanese Christian community. Their support exemplifies the unity and compassion that lies at the heart of our faith. Through acts of compassion and support, the global community stands together with Ukraine, offering strength, hope, and solidarity in the face of Russia aggression."

The donation of the generator was initiated and organized by Mr. Joseph Asahina, former Director at Kobe Steal and recently member of Member ICCSS Global Team.
