Through the intervention of the Polish chairman of the Rotterdam Convention, ICCSS was invited to participate with the Chemss2016 display in a 2-day Science Fair in conjunction with the biannual Conference of Parties (COPs) to the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions, which has a joint Secretariat in Geneva. 

The conference and Science Fair were held at the Centre International des Conferences Geneve and attracted some 2,000 participants, most of them States Parties delegates and representatives of a variety of UN and other international agencies. ICCSS was allowed to erect the Chemss2016 display at the entrance to the Science Fair, arguably the best possible location in the Fair that was captured in official videos and photos of the opening of the Fair. 

Although attendance in the COP sessions is restricted to official government delegates, Amb Paturej on an exceptional (indeed, exclusive) basis was allowed to address COP sessions of the African, Asian and Central/Eastern European Groups of delegates about Chemss2016, as well as to address the full plenary of the conference. His presentations prompted visits to the Chemss2016 display by dozens of government delegates to discuss Chemss2016 in more detail, and we established email communications with many of them immediately following the conclusion of the Science Fair.
