Moldova leadership in volunteer fire service visited ICCSS

Recent visit to Warsaw of Moldova leadership in volunteer fire service and an agreement of cooperation confirmed that ICCSS is considered as a leading international partner in Moldova European efforts and development of Moldova civil protection.      

Upon the ICCSS invitation the leadership of the Association Of Voluntary Firefighters In Republic of Moldova, with its President gen. (ret)  Mihail Harabagiu and senior staff of General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of Moldova, visited Warsaw. They participated in the Warsaw Workshop on the conclusion of NET-CBRN-REACT project. NET-CBRN-REACT project united Eastern Europe and Middle East to develop and implement the Union Civil Protection Knowledge Network in European Neighbourhood countries. Moldova took an active part in the project development and implementation.

On 10th May, 2022 in Warsaw, Amb. Krzysztof Paturej, ICCSS President, and gen. Mihail Harabagiu signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), between the ICCSS and Association Of Voluntary Firefighters In Republic of Moldova, The MoU provides for the ICCSS active engagement in the development of Moldova volunteer fire service. The MoU provides for regular exchange of visits and experts.

The MoU furthers an active cooperation between ICCSS and Moldova, based on the bilateral agreement signed in Warsaw on 6th June, 2021 with General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of Moldova. Based on the 2021 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the  ICCSS supported Moldova in the development of the projects and joint activities in the areas of prevention, preparedness and response to CBRN and natural disasters, civil protection, fire service, and chemical and environmental safety and security and cybersecurity, including trainings, exercises, and exchange of experts. ICCSS was invited to develop the concept of upgrading the newly developed National Training Center on civil protection in Moldova into the regional centre  and coordinate international efforts in its implementation.

At the conclusion of the recent visit the leaders of the ICCSS and   Association Of Voluntary Firefighters In Republic of Moldova, met with Mr. Waldemar Pawlak, President of the Association of Volunteer Fire Service of Poland. They agreed to cooperate on the development of volunteer fire service in Easter Europe
