Moldova authorities informed about a formal application submitted to the EU for joining. ties dliva niu session on the role of private sector in enhancing cyber security, Amb. Paturej, outlined the ICCSS vision for a broad multi-stakeholder participation to enhance industrial cybersecurity and reliability.
During a meeting on 17th October, 2022, Col. Aleksandru Oprea, Head of General Inspectorate from Emergency Situations, confirmed Moldova commitment to implement EURO-MED-REACT, including the predation and conduct of major field exercise in July 2022. He highlighted ICCSS leading role in providing modern chemical and environmental safety and security solutions. During the meeting it was agreed the ICCSS will be invited to provide expertise and assistance for Moldova to join UCPM. A formal application was recently made by Moldova in Brussels, as part of European aspirations of Moldova. Col. Oprea expressed satisfaction on ongoing ICCSS support for the development of Moldova volunteer fire service. He invited ICCSS to continue efforts to develop the national civil protection center in Moldova and transform it into a regional centre.
The Moldova-ICCSS cooperation started in 2018 as part of the joint work within the projects, financed by EU, to enhance protection against chemical threats. Recently the cooperation aims to provide modern response to chem-bio and environmental threats under UCPM https://ec.europa.eu/echo/what/civil-protection/mechanism_en in Eastern Europe and the Middle East. The cooperation is based on the ICCSS bilateral agreements with General Inspectorate from Emergency Situations and Volunteer Fire Association in Moldova.
