Kenyan delegation visit in Warsaw

As part of the Kenyan Program, International Centre for Chemical Safety and Security had pleasure to host Kenyan coordinators of the program- Madam Ambassador Kalimi Mworia and Professor Geoffrey Kamau. The main purpose of their visit, which took place on 28.09 - 02.10 was to discuss the next steps and undertakings related to the implementation of the program.

The delegation began the visit with a meeting in the Ministry of Economy with the Director of the Department of Innovation and Industry - Mr. Jerzy Majchrzak. The main topic of the meeting was to evaluate the first phase of the project and to discuss preparations for the next, the aim of which is to create a model border crossings in Kenya for the transit of dangerous goods.

The second stage is also envisaged to involve Polish entities in the areas of supply of goods, equipment and services that will contribute to enhancing chemical safety and security in Kenya and East African countries.

During their stay, guests from Kenya also visited the chemical and fire research laboratories at the Scientific and Research Centre for Fire Protection in Józefów, as well as chemical laboratory of the department of chemical and process engineering of Warsaw University of Technology. During the breaks between the meetings and visits, intensive consultations on the development of the Kenyan Program where held in ICCSS headquarters.

After the visit to Poland, the Kenyan delegation, together with ICCSS representatives travelled to Berlin for a meeting of the G7 CBRN working group, during which the most important achievements and the upcoming activities of the Kenyan Program were presented to the delegates.
