The ICCSS President, Amb. Krzysztof Paturej and Chancellor of Vistula University, Dr. Zdzislaw Rapacki visited on 08-09 January, 2020, the  National Aerospace University (KhAI) in Kharkiv (Ukraine), to strengthen cooperation on industrial cybersecurity.

The visit included consultations at the Department of Computer Systems, Networks and Cybersecurity and formal meeting with the Prof. Mykola Nechyporuk, Rector of KhAI, and senior University officials, including Prof. Vycheslav Kharchenko, Director of Department of Computer Systems, Networks and Cybersecurity, and Prof. Oleksandr Poti, Deputy Chief Designer of JSC Institute of Information Technology Kharkiv.

The Ukrainian partners presented vast experience and capacities in national regulatory framework, best practices and technologies, developed and used in the ongoing efforts to prevent and respond to regular cyber attacks against Ukraine. The main purpose of these attacks against  financial, energy and transport infrastructure, was the destabilization of the socio-political situation in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian partners highly assessed the ICCSS initiatives and activities which offer integrated approach enhance the development of cybersecurity, resilience against cyber threats and reliability for Industry 4.0.

It was agreed that the Ukraine partners actively participate in the ICCSS-VISTULA led global CHEMSS EDU R&D Network, to develop and conduct international education and training on industrial cybersecurity. They declared participation and input in the Manual of best practices in cybersecurity and reliability in the chemical and energy carriers industries, which is elaborated by the international Task Force within Working Group on Cybersecurity for Industry 4.0 at the Ministry of Digital Affairs, under ICCSS co-ordination. ICCSS accepted the invitation to join, as a partner and organizer, major cybersecurity international events in Ukraine in  2020 co-organized by KhAI.

Prof. Oleksandr Poti, Deputy Chief Designer of JSC Institute of Information Technology Kharkiv, and long term ICCSS partner, joined the ICCSS Global Team, to support efforts to promote worldwide innovative ICCSS approaches to enhance industry cybersecurity and reliability.
