A 3 days intensive course of trainings and Table Top Exercise (TTX), was concluded with the awarding certificates of first degree ICCSS trainer in chemical safety and security for 15 representatives from Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia and Saudi Arabia. The course was conducted at a newly established regional centre for chemical safety and security (ChemReg).
The participation in the course was funded from the France donation for the project on the development of Jordan as regional hub for chemical safety and security.
The course was accompanied by series of meetings and exchanges to develop ICCSS led network among countries of the Middle East and Africa to enhance their chemical safety and security.
Background information:
ChemReg operates within at Amman CBRN Training Facility. ChemReg functions as a regional training hub to prepare and conduct trainings and exercises, provide cooperation between professionals, best practices exchanges and capacity building, in whole range of chemical chain activities.
ICCSS led train the trainers courses core activities include:
Background training course on chemical safety and security.
Presentations on national and international best practices and capacity building measures.
Table Top Exercise, discussions and exchanges.
The course participants are awarded with the ICCSS certificate of first degree trainers in chemical safety and security. This will enable the trainers to develop and conduct trainings, based on ChemReg curriculums, within their countries or industries. The trainers will be able to upgrade their training skills and expertise in the next trainings. They will also be able to connect with the international organizations with which ChemReg will enter in to cooperative arrangements. Thus they will contribute to enhancing safety and security in their countries and places of work.
