This comprehensive program covered critical areas such as fire protection, first aid, crisis management, and leadership, empowering participants to become effective responders and resilient community leaders.

Co-organized by ICCSS and the Volunteer Fire Brigade in Złotokłos (OSP Złotokłos), the camp was a evidence to the power of community-driven initiatives. Experienced instructors from both the Volunteer Fire Brigade and the State Fire Service led the training, offering their expertise and time on a voluntary basis. Their dedication highlighted the importance of promotion young talent within the volunteer fire service, ensuring the continuity and sustainability of these vital community roles.
Laying the Foundation for Future Growth
The Złotokłos 2024 served as a pilot project, laying the foundation for expanding youth volunteer fire services across Europe. With the knowledge and tools gained, participants are now equipped to lead and develop volunteer fire service groups in their home countries. This camp represents the first step in a broader vision to establish a robust network of youth volunteer fire services first in Moldova and Ukraine then throughout the region.
Celebrating Success and Looking Forward
The camp concluded with a special award ceremony, where participants received certificates of completion. The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including General (Ret.) Wiesław Leśniakiewicz, Vice Minister at the Ministry of Interior and Administration, alongside leaders from local administration, schools, businesses, and civil society. Their presence underscored the significance of the event and the widespread support for this pioneering initiative.
Exciting Plans for the Future
Building on the success of Złotokłos 2024, ICCSS and its partners are already planning a series of future initiatives, including Advanced Training for Moldovan volunteer fire service leaders in Złotokłos (late autumn 2024), creation of Training and Exercise Parks as local centers for safety and security training for volunteers and youth, and International Camp in Moldova (Summer 2025). The 2025 Moldova camp will demonstratethe progress made in establishing youth volunteer fire service groups and further develop the ICCSS-led program.
Call for International Support and Collaboration
ICCSS is actively seeking international support to realize these ambitious plans. The success of Złotokłos 2024 has demonstrated the potential of this initiative, but continued collaboration and funding are essential to sustain and expand these efforts.
We invite all stakeholders, partners, and supporters to join us in this mission to empower the next generation of volunteer firefighting leaders. Together, we can build a safer, more resilient Europe.
