The forum will aim to establish active cooperation with African partners in strengthening chemical safety and security in Africa’s rapidly growing industrial sector, and to support the efforts of African countries to reduce chemical hazards and terrorism.
The cooperation agreement was signed during the Second Warsaw Conference that was held on 28 May in Warsaw. It notes the insufficient standards of chemical safety and security in Africa as a serious barrier to the region’s economic and social development and a major cause for the growing number of failures, accidents and safety hazards.
Under the agreement, both parties will promote a new chemical safety program in Kenya as a model for other African countries, and will encourage the development of training programs and of a chemical safety and security culture. The agreement also aims to develop business and research cooperation between Polish and African entities.
