Cooperation with Egypt in enhancing chemical safety and security in the Middle East

Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI) confirmed participation in the Global Summit on Chemical Safety (www.chemss2016.org) in Kielce, recognizing the event as a strategic point on the map of international chemical safety and the development of chemical security in the Middle East.

International Centre for Chemical Safety and Security (ICCSS) and the representatives of Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI) and the Office of Environmental Compliance and Sustainability (ECO SD) jointly concluded that maintaining high standards of chemical safety and security is currently one of the biggest challenges in the chemical industry.

Participation of FEI / ECO in the Global Summit on Chemical Safety (Chemss2016) and close cooperation with ICCSS, will provide new opportunities in the opening of Egyptian market and will allow to implement practical solutions on reducing chemical risks and optimize environmental performance. An important point of cooperation is to promote the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), to meet the safety and security concerns and social needs of employees and local communities.

The ​​Polish-Egyptian cooperation was welcome by participants of the recent Egyptian Industry Federation workshop in Cairo and among Arab Parties to the Basel Convention, during the meeting in Sharm Elseigh. Egyptian partners from government agencies and industry have confirmed their interest in joining Chemss2016.

In order to strengthen the cooperation with the International Centre for Chemical Safety and Security (ICCSS) and the Egyptian presence at Chemss2016, authorities of Egyptian Industry Federation (FEI) and the Office of Environmental Compliance and Sustainability (ECO SD), have issued the following letter of intent.
