Conclusions 

 

The Beijing seminar was organized by the Embassy of Poland in Beijing, the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF) and the International Centre for Chemical Safety and Security (ICCSS), and was chaired by HE Tadeusz Chomicki, Ambassador of Poland to China.

 

The Beijing Seminar was attended by a distinguished audience and representatives from Chinese government and industry, Polish government and civil society, international industry and diplomats.

 

The Beijing Seminar provided a broad look on different aspects of the environmental protection and chemical safety and security. The Seminar will present concrete proposals to enhance chemical safety and security and environmental protection in China.

The Seminar presented the ongoing national and international activities to enhance chemical safety and security, introduced to the Chinese partners the leading international and national programs coordinated by the International Centre for Chemical Safety and Security (ICCSS), Warsaw, Poland, and achieved concrete forms of cooperation between the Chinese and Polish partners represented by theChina Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF) China Control Chemical Association (CCCA), and the International Centre for Chemical Safety and Security (ICCSS), to enhance chemical safety and security in China and worldwide.

 

A joint press communique between the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF) China Control Chemical Association (CCCA), and the International Centre for Chemical Safety and Security (ICCSS), issued at the end of the Beijing Seminar, confirmed a mutual interest and outlined core areas of incoming cooperation. 

 

The Beijing Seminar marked the beginning of the practical cooperation between the Polish and Chinese partners in chemical safety and security and environmental protection. This cooperation is strongly supported by the Government of Poland.

 

The Chinese partners confirmed their interest in the proposed program of local awareness and responsibility in chemical safety and security in China, which would enable local governments and actors to meet the chemical safety and security standards and increase an environmental protection.

 

The Chinese partners were invited to join and support the implementation of the program of developing chemical safety and security in Kenya.

 

The Chinese partners confirmed an interest and joined as leading partners the global summit on chemical safety and security and accompanying international fair, to be held in Kielce, Poland on 18-20 April, 2016 (www.chemss2016.org).

 

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which was signed between theChina Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF) China Control Chemical Association (CCCA), and the International Centre for Chemical Safety and Security (ICCSS), formed a basis for developing lasting relations and bringing together Chinese and Polish and their international partners engaged in efforts to enhance chemical safety and security.  The memorandum should enhance cooperation in security, economy, trade relations, and research and development.

 

Statements and presentations made at the Beijing seminar will be included in the special Seminar’s publication. 

 

The co-organizers confirmed their consent to conduct of the Beijing seminar on a regular, yearly basis.
