Head of Safety Engineering Department and Manager of the post graduate programme “Industrial Safety Engineering” at the Technical University of Lodz, Poland. Organizer of the intra-faculty educational program s1 on safety engineering at TU Lodz. Member of the Loss Prevention Working Party of the European Federation of Chemical Engineers and member of different safety organizations and editorial boards, such as the Journal of Oil, Gas and Coal Technology (IJOGCT), World Conference on Oil and Gas Safety, and a member of the Programme Board of the Industrial Chemistry. Reviewer for the Journal of Hazardous Materials and Journal of Loss Prevention in the Process Industry and others Journals. Research Associate at the Mary Kay O’Connor Process Safety Centre of Texas A&M University, College Station, USA. Scientific professional interests include: chemical and process engineering especially drying and evaporation processes and different process safety topics, such as: quantitative and semi-quantitative risk analysis and assessment (e.g. QRA, LOPA, process risk management, fire and explosion modeling and assessment, uncertainty analysis with help of fuzzy logic for process risk assessment, domino effects and safety management system for the process industry). Author of over 260 scientific papers, reports, monographs and chapters, mostly concerning of the process safety, as well as safety reports for major stakeholders in the Polish chemical industry.
