Mr. Waldemar Paturej

Waldemar Paturej is the Chief Legal Councel of the ICCSS (International Centre of Chemical Safety and Security) where he is responsible for managing overall legal issues including international law, Polish legislation as well as legal aspects related to ongoing ICCSS activities. ICCSS serves as a centre of training in chemical safety and security and supports the development of national and international networks of chemical safety and security officers from relevant international organisations. The centre provides continuity to the international efforts in chemical safety and security and  focuses on building the potential for research, development, storage, production, and safe use of chemicals for purposes not prohibited by the Chemical Weapons Convention and other international agreements, including international health regulations.

He is also:
- the Managing Partner of W.Paturej Law Firm Limited which is supporting big international companies in their operations in Poland (e.g. SHELL, BAYER, MAN, PIRELLI, DOW, COMPASS Group, SIX Group) as well as the governmental offices (Ministry of the Environmental Protection, Main Inspectorate of the Environmental Protection, State Fire Service and many others)  
- the President of the Board of Capital Partnership Ltd – the investment found which is supporting investments in the area of environmental protection and chemical safety and security
- the President of the Board of the Grupa HRC SA joint stock company, publicly listed, specialised in providing big international organizations and companies with the top Talents and human resources solutions. HRC Group is a member of CFR Global Executive Search.

Previously he worked as:
- the Managing Partner at Oziminska Law Firm Limited Partnership (2000 – 2003)
- the Chief Lawyer at PricewaterhouseCoopers GHRS Division (1998-2000),
- the Senior Lawyer at the National Security Office of the President of Poland (1996-1998) where he was responsible for coordination of works on preparation of the Act on states of emergency
From 2003 he’s been an Attorney at Law and a member of the Polish Bar Association.
He obtained LLM from Warsaw University, specialization International Public Law, subject of the thesis: “UN Sanctions within the international legal system” (1996)

Post graduate studies:
- Katholieke Univesiteit Leuven (Belgium) – the European Law and Legal System  (1996)
- National School of Administration ENA Paris – Course on the border control of the European Union (1997)
- National Security Faculty, University of Warsaw – integrated studies on countries and international security (1997- 1998)
