ICCSS Plays an Active Role at G7 Global Partnership Meetings in Rome

The International Centre for Chemical Safety and Security (ICCSS) actively participated in the launch of the G7 Group's Italian Presidency in Rome from February 7th to 9th. During the sessions held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ICCSS team engaged deeply in discussions to advance CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear), safety and security, along with civil protection and societal resilience.

Spotlight on Four Critical Projects for Ukraine and Palestine

The ICCSS showcased four vital project proposals aimed at addressing the immediate CBRN safety and security challenges in Ukraine and Palestine:

  1. Transboundary and Regional Nuclear Safety and Security Cooperation: In partnership with EnergoAtom of Ukraine, this initiative seeks a comprehensive strategy to bolster local defenses against nuclear and other CBRN threats.
  2. Enhancing Cybersecurity in Ukraine: This project focuses on the creation of a Cyber Fortress League and a CBRN Cyber Fortress initiative, aiming to strengthen cybersecurity resilience against looming cyber threats in key energy and CBRN infrastructure sectors.
  3. Boosting Ukraine's CBRN Threat Response: Aimed at equipping local communities and authorities with the necessary tools and knowledge to effectively counter CBRN threats, this project is designed to improve safety and security amidst ongoing military tensions.
  4. CBRN and Civil Protection Training for Palestine: In collaboration with Jordan and Palestine, this initiative intends to upgrade the capabilities of first responders, ensuring their preparedness to efficiently manage CBRN incidents.
