Oleksandr Sadovskyi is a Senior Specialist at the Scientific and Technological Centre of the Ukrainian Chemists Union (National Chemical Industry Association) and the board member of think-tank “Development & Security Association”.



He graduated from Military Engineering College (Ukraine), where, in addition to the main specialization as guided missiles and technological equipment engineer, he also gained knowledge and training of CBRN security including the use of chemical protection equipment and technics. He also graduated from National Defence Academy (Ukraine) with Master’s Degree in International Relations in Military Sphere and from NATO Defence College (Italy).



Since starting his military career as an air defence engineer he has held different engineering and command positions in Soviet and later Ukrainian Armed Forces. Through the professional career Mr Sadovskyi developed skills in the areas of armament, defence research, international relations, defence diplomacy and defence strategy. His professional experience also includes service as an expert in the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, Army Attaché in The United States, Defence Attaché in The United Kingdom of Great Britain, Defence Attaché in The Kingdom of the Netherlands. During his service in the Embassy of Ukraine to The Netherlands (2008-2010) Mr Sadovskyi worked as a military adviser to the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the OPCW. Recently he has been a researcher and a board member of think-tank which seeks to offer to the governmental and international institutions strategic decision support and advice in areas of to international and national defence and security including CBRN security. In 2011 also joined Ukrainian Chemists Union and started to work as National Coordinator of the “Responsible Care” initiative for the Ukrainian Chemical Industry and manager of International programs.
